Police Thwart Kidnapping Attempt in Katsina, Kill Three Bandits

 The Katsina police force successfully thwarted a kidnapping attempt, rescued all abductees, and killed three bandits.

On June 7, 2024, the Sabuwa Local Government Police Headquarters received a report that armed bandits had attacked Duya village in Maibakko ward, Sabuwa Local Government Area, and kidnapped several women.

Upon receiving the report, Sabuwa Division Police Chief, CSP Aliyu Mustapha, in collaboration with local vigilantes, mobilized a team of security officers to the scene. The bandits, upon seeing the security personnel, opened fire. The security team retaliated, successfully foiling the kidnapping attempt and rescuing all abductees.

After securing the area, the bodies of three slain bandits were recovered.

The Police Commissioner CP Abubakar Musa, while commending the officers for their expertise and bravery, reiterated the force's commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property in the state.
